problema ko rin po iyon dahil it used to be that one trying hydroponics must by the material ingredients by volume - not inexpensive for a hobbyist. I wish today there are already pre mixed solutions for use.

Perhaps three of four retiring executives will buy a piece of land, divide it among themselves in proportion to a share in the cost. Then hire one caretaker and then go to the farm together in just one vehicle. Perhaps a rest house can be in the center where kamote can be grilled and coffee can be brewed. If one gets tired of the his farm, he can sell it to his partners or to someone they know.

Two very important item not discussed are the size and the price per square meter.
I would say for a retiree, the size should be enough fit for his desired activities. And it would be balanced by the price per square meter. If the retiree is in Metro Manila, he may want to be in his farm in 90 minutes or so so he can return home before 6pm. Thus, his farm may be somewhere in Imus, or Montalban, or Bulacan . The farther he gets the less expensive the farm will be. It will be interesting if you can suggest places and prices and sizes for the people desiring to get to retirement farming.

hi! i just started last nov.16 /11 a vermi farm a very small one and i have a population of about roughly 600 kilos of night crawlers and since then my first last dec 18 was 3 tons of castings, third harvest last dec.23/11 was 4 1/2 tons and my last harvest dec. 29/11 was almost 4 tons since we harvested a day early due to the holidays. I have no problem in producing worm castings by big volume , pls help me find market for my produce ,if needed be buyers can visit my small farm and have the castings analyzed for verification.

You may try the Simple Nutrient Addition Program (SNAP). The technology was developed by Dr. Santos together with Dr. Eureka Teresa M. Ocampo of UPLB. This is supported by the Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR).

Hi,
